Every musician in America knows the Guitar Center stores which is the biggest chain of music stores in the USA with over 200 stores. Of course a big chain like this has to have a online store as well. We have a look at Guitar Center here.

1. First hand impression:

My first hand impression of www.samash.com is that it’s a pretty good site. It looks professional and it is really easy to get an overview of the site.

On www.samash.com they concentrate on being a web-shop and not so much else which is nice for the user since it makes is easier to find your way round the site.

2. Usability:

The site is easy to use and it´s easy the navigate round the site.

There is a menu bar on top of the site where you can choose which kind of instruments you are interested in and then you get to the main page of that instrument. Here you are given different choices to find what you are looking for. For example if you go to the main page for guitars you can choose if you are looking for electric or acoustic guitars or if you are looking for amps or effects. Then when you chose what you are interested in you get new choices to narrow down your search. This way to navigate is both good and bad in my opinion. If you are looking for something specific it is really easy to find it this way but if you are just here to look at many different guitars it takes to long before you get to the list of guitars and then you still don’t get to see them all at once.

3. Selection:

The selection of instruments on www.samash.com seems very limited. it’s obvious that they concentrate on a few brands where they have a lot of models and then they only have a few models of other brands. In the guitar department they have many different models of Fender guitars but only a few different Gibson guitars. They say on the front page that “SamAsh.com is here to bring you any guitar and guitar accessory you could ever want!” but to do that they really need to upgrade their selection.

I found another problem when you are looking for an ESP guitar. It’s very hard to see if you are actually looking at an ESP guitar or if it’s a LTD guitar which is the cheaper version of an ESP. It says ESP on all of them but we all know that you can’t buy a ESP guitar for 250$. It’s really important that you get all the right informations when you buy a guitar online since you don’t have the chance to look at it and play if beforehand. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t buy guitars at Samash.com be course it’s a good online guitar store but if you have doubts you can always ask us here at Music-stores-online.com and we will check it out for you.

4. Customer service:

There is a toll free phone number you can call 24 hours a day 7 days a week if you need assistance when your shopping at SamAsh.com.

There is only a limited numbers of FAQ and it´s divided into questions about shopping and questions about shipping.

If you got other questions you can send them an email and they will answer your questions.

5. The purchase:

It’s very easy to purchase the product you want. Just find the product and click the “Add to cart” button. When you are done shopping you go to your cart and push the “Checkout” button. If you are a new customer you will have to fill out the form with your name and address etc. and your credit card information.

It’s all really easy and if you just follow the guide there should be no problems.

You can also chose to check out with PayPal which is the easy way if you have a PayPal account. This is a really good feature and many people feel that PayPal is the safe way to pay, which it is.

6. Delivery:

Most items from 99$ and up are shipped for free. For items under 99$ the maximum price if you choose the standard shipping is 5.95$. You can choose to upgrade to a faster service but then the price will go up. For very heavy or oversized items there can be an additional cost but it doesn’t say how much in the site.

7. Store evaluation:

Samash.com is a good online music store. They concentrate on being a music store and not so much else which in this case is a good thing. It’s easy to navigate round the site and find what you are looking for. The selection is big but a bit limited for some brands but for most people they can find just about anything they are looking for.

All the terms and conditions for shopping at Samash.com like return policy and shipping prices and policy are pretty standard and pretty much the same as anywhere else.
